THE NEXUS SAGA
DISCOVERY (2046)
A team of labourers uncover a vast underground cavern filled with cryptic runes and strange plant life. They find an ancient temple illuminated by a mysterious liquid, later named Flow.
THE TWO ELIXIRS: FLOW & FLUX
Within the cavern are two powerful substances:
Flow: A radiant liquid with the ability to heal and nurture living things.
Flux: A viscous, dimly glowing material that can reshape inanimate matter.
ADVANCEMENT AND COLLAPSE
Scholars study Flow and Flux, eventually learning to replicate the temple’s secrets. Artificial Nexuses are created, bringing prosperity and rapid progress to humanity. The artificial Nexuses prove unstable. Corrupted Flow and Flux spread chaos, causing mutations and societal breakdown. Civilisations that depended on the Nexuses fall, leaving only scattered survivors.
THE LAST NEXUSES
Survivors cluster around the few remaining untainted Nexuses. Competing factions fight for control, leading to the Nexus Wars. The true nature of Flow and Flux becomes clear: Flow can heal and restore, while Flux can destroy and reshape reality.
YOUR ROLE
You are a lone warrior in the midst of the Nexus Wars, forced to choose between fueling conflict or seeking peace. Survival depends on mastering the volatile powers of Flow and Flux.
